Scalp Itch and Seborrheic Ezema

Seborrheic eczema of the scalp can be caused due to the increase of the fungus known as pityrosporum ovale. This happens due to lack of hair care or increased humidity.  The symptoms of itchy scalp includes scaling, itching and dandruff like flaking. One may also see small boils and sticky crusts.

To treat scalp ezema,  go for a medicated seborrheic dermatitis treatment shampoo like Sebowash, which contains Flucinolone Acetonide.   Put the shampoo on the scalp area once daily, work up a lather and let it remain on the scalp for about 5 minutes.  The hair and scalp should be washed properly with water. Topical antifungal medicines with or without shampoo may also be prescribed by the skin doctor.

Home remedy for scalp itch due to Seborrheic Eczema

Make a paste of soaked 'methi' seeds, ground pepper and 2 tspns of lemon juice and ginger.  Apply it on the scalp area for about fifteen minutes and then rinse it off with a mild shampoo.
